The brothers
Two from Milan, always back to back
Born and raised in Milan, Alessandro and Federico have played as Mind Against for over a decade, always as a pair and almost always back to back.
The sound
Somewhere between IDM, house and techno. Big synth lines, obsessive sound design, and a weakness for 1980s film scores.
In the studio they build the emotion first; in the club it turns into long, rolling peaks. Their first EP, Atlant, came out on Life and Death in September 2013. Astral with Tale Of Us followed on the same label in 2015, along with Vertere alongside Somne, while Elysium / Pulsar with Locked Groove landed on Hotflush.
From 2017 most of their records went to Afterlife: the Solaris EP with Ae:ther, Days Gone, then Walking Away in 2020, still the track most people know them for. They have remixed Art Department, Roisin Murphy and Green Velvet, and more recently CamelPhat, Adriatique, RUFUS DU SOL, Monolink and WhoMadeWho.
Then came HABITAT, their own label and event series. The label puts out records by Dyzen, Sideral, CAY and friends. The nights started at the Roundhouse in April 2024 and have since run in New York, Amsterdam, Paris, Dubai, Buenos Aires and Milano.
