01 1988 to 2003

i was thirteen when we moved to franklin.

i was born in meridian, mississippi, in december 1988. after my parents divorced, my mom and i moved to franklin, tennessee. i started vocal lessons with brett manning, met josh and zac farro at school, and met jeremy davis in a funk cover band called the factory.

02 2003 to 2005

they wanted a solo pop singer. i wanted a band.

when atlantic signed me as a teenager, they had a solo pop record in mind. i held out for a band playing pop punk, and they agreed. that band was paramore, and we released all we know is falling in 2005, when i was sixteen.

03 2005 to 2023

six paramore albums. i am on every one of them.

riot! in 2007, brand new eyes in 2009, paramore in 2013, after laughter in 2017 and this is why in 2023. ain't it fun won best rock song at the grammys in 2015, and this is why won best rock album and best alternative music performance.

along the way: airplanes with b.o.b went to no. 2 on the hot 100 in 2010, stay the night with zedd came out in 2013, and in 2016 i started good dye young, a vegan and cruelty-free hair colour company.

04 2015 to 2021

i stepped away, and i talked about why.

depression took me out of the band for a while in 2015. i have been in therapy since 2018 and have spoken openly about it since. in 2021 i stepped off my personal social media to

spend more time looking up and out, rather than down.

05 2020 to 2021

then my own name.

petals for armor came out in two parts in 2020, and the pandemic cancelled the tour. flowers for vases / descansos followed on february 5, 2021. before it came out, i leaked one of its songs, my limb, by handing a fan a cd.

06 2025

ego death, on my own label.

on july 23, 2025, mirtazapine played first on wnxp in nashville. on july 28 seventeen songs went up on my website behind a passcode we sent out through good dye young. on august 1 all seventeen came out as singles on post atlantic, and on august 28 the album arrived in order.

ego death at a bachelorette party is twenty songs, opening on ice in my oj and closing on showbiz. i made it on my own label, post atlantic.

the double vinyl comes in team zissou green or classic black, and the cd is my updated mix. every copy carries showbiz, the song i added for the physical edition.
